Born on August 7, 1947, in Evarts, Kentucky, she was the daughter of George Stephen and Rebecca Loretta (Day) Middleton, both of whom preceded her in death.Artrice was a retired teacher for the Madison County School system and was of the Baptist faith.Dottie is described by family and friends as honest, kindhearted, forgiving, empathetic, encouraging, and gentle-spirited. Above all, she loved her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ with all her heart. She is loved by many and will never be forgotten.Survivors include two sons, Samuel P. “Sammy” Thacker and David Aaron Thacker; three daughters-in-law, Nancy Thacker, Jennifer Thacker, and Shannon Neal; one brother, Verlin Lee Middleton; four sisters, Leona Maiden, Margaret Alisue Murry, and Cleda Bernice Miracle.She also leaves eight grandchildren, Ashley Christman, Katherine Anne Thacker, Rolando Heath Thacker, Brandi Thacker, James Quinton Thacker, Joshua Aaron Thacker and Sarah Ilana Thacker; Skyler Thacker: four great-grandchildren, Bayleigh Thacker, Eli Thacker, Liam Thacker Christman, and Lilly Erin Thacker.She was also preceded in death by one son, Brandon Heath Thacker; one brother, George Allen Middleton; one sister, Norma Jean Wilson; and one great-granddaughter, Mariah Christman.Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, November 26, 2018, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
